Star Trek - Ships of the Line 2027

It was an absolute privilege to be invited to do an image for the Ships of the Line Star Trek calendar. I was given the option of rendering the Constitution Refit, which is my absolute favorite design of the franchise. I tried many concepts, but this vision of the ship sailing atop of planetary rings kept coming back to haunt me. The rings were heavily inspired by Alien Romulus. They are a mix of subsurface scattering materials and a particle system to scatter the rocks. The ship itself is the one already posted here on artstation.
