Naval Traditions - USS Excelsior getting ready for launch

An image done for my friend Thomas Marrone for an upcoming book of his. The idea was to depict certain elements of traditions on a naval setting. The Excelsior is getting ready for its launch. The wheel is positioned in what would be the rear officer's lounge of the Enterprise, kinda of as a nod to different generations. The wheel is the exact same one seen on Star Trek: The Final Frontier. Originally the bell was supposed to be in the image as well, but the composition felt too cluttered.
